Disney Prep

Forgive me if I've already shared this, but today I saw one of my friends is planning a birthday party for her little girl--with a Minnie Mouse theme. It reminded me that I had made these cute shirts for my other friend's daughter when they visited Disney last year.

I made these using shirts from Target and black iron-on transfer cut with my Silhouette...I made these last October. {Gulp} Yeah, over half a year ago. I guess it really has been busy around here if I'm just getting to share this now.

{I added a removable bow.}

Easter "baskets"

Not to be a complainer, but apparently spring has sprung. Today it is 79 degrees INSIDE my house. Is it too early for A/C?!

All I want to do is lay down under the fan to enjoy the breeze.

I took this picture on April 23rd (seriously!):

I just can't get enough of this warm breeze. If only I was on a beach with my feet in the sand!

{And here's an awkward transition for you} This Easter instead of making Easter Baskets I made wooden totes. I'd first seen this idea used by Jaime at That's My Letter, she's extremely talented, and creates all sorts of wood & paint masterpieces. Her plans are based on plans from Ana White's website, but mine were much smaller (10.5" long, 8" wide, and 7" high)

I could have used my Silhouette to create vinyl letters, but instead I painted their names on using Jaime's method.

I'm so happy with the way they turned out. I'm contemplating adding stain, although I've never used stain before...so I'm a little scared of how it might turn out....should I try to add stain?

Mother's Day

I always struggle gift giving...probably because I overthink things and have a desire to find the perfect gift. Last year, although I was due right after Mother's Day, I ended up creating photo wall hangings for the grandmothers.

I used the Silhouette machine to cut white vinyl:
My mom's sign reads "Grandchildren are the lines from generation to generation."

My mother-in-law's sign reads "blessed be the ties that bind generations."
And, you are welcome for these awesome photos...I suppose I was too busy getting ready to have a baby to take decent pictures. I gave birth five days after giving my mother-in-law her mother's day gift, and 10 days later my sister-in-law also had a baby...thus the two blanks...

What are you doing for Mother's Day year?
